The first stage of the season is nearly over in Israel. A big battle between teams who think they can challenge the top at the end of the season went to Maccabi Ashdod 86-70 over Ramat Hasharon. The game was highlighted by a Tanisha Wright triple-double and a terrific battle between Alysha Clark and Emma Cannon as the victors only needed to fill two of the foreigner spots. Maccabi Ramat Hen got a tougher than expected test from Asia Taylor, Shamela Hampton, and ASA Jerusalem, but stayed in firm control as Kayla Thornton led them to a 68-66 win. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion kept Hapoel Petah Tikva in last place with a 65-61 win. Bnot Hertzeliya is the lead team in the three way tie for second place as Keisha Hampton led them to a 70-50 win over Elitzur Holon.
