The quarterfinals series all started on Thursday with the same format as the last round as teams who finished lower in the rankings hosted the first games. Besiktas continues to show it was probably the difficulty of their group and the not the quality of their play that dropped them to the 16 seed as Luca Ivankovic led them to a 75-67 win over 8 seed Reyer Venezia. The top remaining seed, Miskolc got the 69-64 win at 10 seed Nymburk, bringing a lead home as the 2 seed despite a strong game from Theairra Taylor. Another upset minded team takes a lead into the second game as 11 seed Nantes Reze used a solid effort from Queralt Casas to beat 3 seed Spartak Moscow 60-57. The battle of two French teams was gritty as 5 seed Landes does appear to be taking a commanding lead home with them after a 55-37 win at 13 seed Angers. All of the series will be resolved next Thursday.
