Australian League Round 14

After a week off for the national team to gather together, the league started the new round on Friday.  Kelsey Griffin and Gabrielle Richards worked hard inside to lead Bendigo to an 81-66 win over Sydney.  Mikaela Ruef helped Adelaide end a tough stretch with a 77-63 win at Dandenong.  The lone Saturday game was more bad news for Canberra, which had Abby Bishop firing, but not nearly enough to slow down Lauren Mansfield and Rachel Jarry for SEQ. Jordan Hooper chipped in as well in the 115-75 win.  Canberra had no more luck on Sunday as having both DeNesha Stallworth and Renee Montgomery being productive at the import spots was still not enough for a win with Suzy Batkovic turning in the weekend’s biggest scoring effort for Townsville in the 97-83 final.  Perth finishes the week in first place after a 76-67 win over Adelaide.  Dandenong is in the lead among three teams tied for the last two postseason spots after Annalise Pickrel led them to a 72-67 win at Melbourne in a special Monday game.
