It is near the end of the first stage of league play and there were several key games in the race for divisional positioning. All teams except the two military-affiliated teams now have a foreign player after Ashley Paris joined Shandong. The big battle in the South Division was won by Shanghai 70-64 as Elizabeth Cambage and Yelena Leuchanka battled to a draw individually. Bayi beat winless Shandong 93-88 to stay in third place. In a battle of Chicago Sky teammates, Jessica Breland and Jiangsu beat Cheyenne Parker and Henan 94-83. The big game in the North Division saw Xinjiang remain undefeated by beating Shanxi 76-62. Tina Charles put in the strongest individual performance of the round to offset a strong scoring effort from Penny Taylor. Beijing kept Heilongjiang winless by a 76-56 margin. Shenyang moved up to third after beating Liaoning 84-74 thanks the second highest scoring output of the round by Li Meng.
